About Cindy Vann
I’m Cindy, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of experience.
Through my work and trainings, I’ve developed a deep understanding of the unique struggles faced
by both adults and children who have issues surrounding adoption, anxiety, ADHD, executive functioning difficulties, trauma, and attachment issues. I also emphasize a holistic, mind–body approach to treating the whole individual. I know that life can feel overwhelming at times, and that creating meaningful change — even when deeply desired — can be hard.
I believe that lasting change happens through small, consistent steps. Starting from
where you are right now, I’ll walk alongside you, offering support and guidance as you
work toward the life you want to build.
My Approach
My approach can be eclectic and based on your needs. If you need my support and someone who can give hear you without judgement, this will be my role. If you need someone to challenge you on values and beliefs that are unhealthy, that will be my role. If you need information, tools, and techniques to meet your challenges, this will be my role.
I prefer not to dwell in past traumas, but we will visit them to make sense of them when they keep you from moving forward. My approach is to focus on being mindful of the present and what changes you can make in your present life to move beyond your past traumas. I view a person holistically and try to help you improve all areas of your life, mind, body, and spirit.
I will work with each individual based on years of education and experience by implementing cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness techniques, solution-based techniques or providing education. I may address attachment issues, executive function issues, cognitive distortions, unhealthy lifestyle choices, communication problems, or any other issue that is impacting your progress. Starting where you are I will work with you towards your goals.

Therapy is a collaborative process — we are partners in your progress. I’ll bring compassion and support, along with tools, techniques, and research-based insights to help you along the way. At times, I may gently challenge beliefs or perspectives that might be holding you back, always with your growth and well-being in mind.
If you need clarification or guidance, I will take the time to provide you with all the information and tools you need to confidently move forward.
The goals you set for yourself can feel overwhelming to tackle alone, and that’s often why people come to therapy. My role is to help you break those goals down into manageable steps so you can build real momentum. Together, we’ll start small and focus on achievable changes that move you in the right direction, one step at a time. My goal is to set you up for success so you can see progress and feel empowered. As Lao Tzu said, ‘A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”.
In our first session, we’ll start with a few housekeeping items. I know this part can feel a little tedious, but it’s important to make sure you fully understand what therapy involves and what you can expect from the process.
I encourage you to ask questions during this time—therapy is a relationship, and it’s important that you feel comfortable and confident that I can meet your needs.
We’ll also talk about what brought you to therapy and what you hope to get out of our work together. Sometimes, it can take a few sessions for your true goals to come into focus, and that’s completely normal. Our early sessions are all about building trust and getting to know one another so we can create a plan that supports your growth.
My full fee is $175 per 50-minute session, but I do have a frequency discount of $150 per session for those who attend weekly and qualify for the reduced fee. Parent Coaching is $150.00. I also offer a limited number of lower-fee/ sliding-scale sessions as they become available for those who qualify. Payment will be made prior to each session by Zelle, Venmo, or credit card.
Out-of-Network Benefits:
I am not individually paneled with any insurance companies; however, if you have a PPO, you are likely able to obtain some reimbursement for sessions with an out-of-network psychologist. Make sure you call your insurance provider to verify this (and the percentage of their allowed fee that you will be reimbursed) before your first session, since I am unable to guarantee reimbursement of your expenses by your insurance company. I will provide you a “Superbill” that you then submit to your insurance company for direct reimbursement.
(Please note that in order to be reimbursed from insurances, you will need to meet medical necessity requirements. I will let you know if I am able to generate a “Superbill” for reimbursement.)
